Tropic Chocolate Protein Smoothie


Serves 2

  • 1 cup pomegranate juice

  • ½ banana

  • 2 handfuls spinach (or 1 handful spinach, ½ head of romaine, coarsely chopped)

  • 1 heaping spoonful unsweetened cacao*


  • Blend together the juice, banana, and greens until the greens are completely incorporated. Stop the blender and add the Margaritaville Life Protein Powder and cacao. Blend until smooth.

  • *Chocolate drinks are great, but this smoothie is great without it. The red juice & greens make the smoothie brown in color. We added the chocolate here because we figured if you’re going to drink something that looks like chocolate, you might as well just drink the chocolate. FYI, cacao is the healthier version of cocoa, roasted on low heat to maintain a higher nutrient content. Unsweetened cocoa would also work here. Whatever you use, make sure it’s unsweetened, to avoid extra sugar.
